Kicking the tires...decisions
Your input is appreciated as I clean out the garage.
My lease is up on the GS May 1. According to the lease I can 1) trade in 2) buy it 3) walk away.
Option 1) I am not going to buy a Lexus at this time, heart is set on something else but no hard feelings toward Lexus at all.
Option 2) Seems like a smart idea - pay off is $19k, looks like the car brings $25-28k stock.
Option 3) Would be insane to do (see #2 above) seems like I would leave $ on table.
It has 55k miles on it and is in good-excellent condition.
So what do you guys think? Should I pay it off through Lexus Financial, get the title, then private sell it hopefully for mid-high $20k?
Is it easier to sell it as is or put OEM back on it? It would cost me labor to do.
I am not in a real hurry and don't mind putting out the cash for the pay off.
Do you think it would bring what I expect?
Details of the mods are in my signature below.

Your likely to get less money for the car with aftermarket parts on it. Many older people aren t going to want a car rimmed up so you ll be catering to a specific group of people also limiting you

I can't say I am unhappy with it! Just looking for a change.
I am going with the Cadillac CTS-V. I have a great opportunity with a 2011 and 4k miles on it. Takes the sting out of the purchase quite a bit. I know the owner and the history.

Keep in mind that tax laws on leases in Texas are really screwed up. In most cases, you pay full sales tax on the car when you lease it (unless your dealer allowed you "tax credits" - a whole new story).
But then, if you decide to buy it from the leasing company at the end of the lease, you have the honor of paying taxes again on the full amount of the purchase price. This nullifies some of the effect of trying to buy it just to turn around and resell it again.
