Default Is there a way to manually eject the NAV DVD?

At the dealer as I'm typing.

They say there are hidden buttons which I tried last night. I was doing the dance dance revolution method on the screen. Doesn't work.

I will probably have to take the glove box out. Thanks Rominl.

Thanks Ken300. I tried those methods as well. Didn't work for me. I think I will have to physically remove the DVD drive.

There's a separate thread here that may or may not have answers for you.
Here's a couple things to try before you take anything apart.
Hidden button solution...
suggestion 1: touch top left then top right then top left then top right ...
suggestion 2: touch top left then bottom-left then top-left then bottom-left... if it doesn't eject then continue by adding top-right then top left then top-right.

For the help of the others here if you can document each attempt so we can maybe, finally figure out what will work.

When I was able to get my DVD to eject I was already so upset that I was trying anything and everything so I'm not sure of the exact situation... don't know if the car needs to be running or in accessory 1 or accessory 2 position... I as doing so many multi-touch combos that who knows for sure which sequence did the job.
Do better then I did and document your attempts.

If there is an eject button on the drive why have I read elsewhere on this forum that a dealer suggesting a user bring the car in they would remove the DVD drive and send it to some company to have bad media removed. Is this just a horribly uninformed dealer that doesn't know of a physical button on the drive?

If there is such a button maybe one of you knowledgeable guys can do a DIY sticky, with photos, on taking apart the glove box and showing the exact location of this eject button.
If there were such a documented procedure then one could view it and make an educated decision whether to tackle it or just take it to the dealer.
Without specific directions (with pictures) I know I wouldn't start this process.

It SHOULD be an easy fix...in my opinion, a design flaw by Toyota, you
shouldn't have to take a car to the dealer to eject any bad media.
Either an easily accessible manual eject button or a fool-proof soft eject should have been provided.
Some of us have gotten to this dreaded situation on our own, others have accidentally arrived at this problem.

Please let us know what the dealer had to do and how much they charged for the service. I'd like to try another of my hybrid DVDs again but would like to know how much it will cost if I get stuck again.

thanks
Ken
