Default Chrome Shifter Base....

Hello all- first post.

I just bought a 07' GS450h, it's already at a Lexus dealership getting the noise kit installed to get rid of the creaking. I really like the shifter base that's in the newer gs. Is this a easy part to switch out? Thanks!

Funny you mention this. I'm going to post something about this tomorrow.

But, if you did a search you would have found this:

Thanks for the reply, exactly what I was looking for. That gap might bother me though.

If your serious Im going to part this out of my car and put back the original one so I can have it back to stock for sale. Just PM me if you want it. I never did mess with the void area but its looks better then the black that came with the car IMO.

I just had this installed along with the steering wheel from 2008, will post pics tomorrow. I paid to much but I replaced the wood in order for everything to lock stock. PS. Lexus installed it for me for free since I bought the car there!

I guess you also had to get a new airbag too?

What did all that set you back if you don't mind the question?

It looks good.

The cost was to much money total came out to $2,700 I regret paying that much but then again I'm not upgrading anything else on the car the rims are staying and there is no sway bar being added, so all in all I'm set and it has tint.

Break down of cost:
Steering Wheel-$1,500
Wood Grain Panel-$1,000
Shift Plate-$140

Total A/T=$2,700

PS: I sold the old parts for $1,750 so made some money back!

If you like it, I say it wasn't too much.

I am thinking about the shifter piece. The steering wheel looks good but not sure it's enough of a difference to justify the change for me.

I thought the steering wheel alone had a cost of around 1500 without the airbag?
