Buying 08 GS460
Thinking about buying a used GS460. I found a 08 with 25k miles on it. It is well equipped with navi and ML. I heard that there is a lot of recalls on the 07-08 GS 350. Same case with the GS460? Any known issue with 08 GS460? Is there any difference between a 08-11 GS model?
I have a 2008 GS460. It has been perfect. Only issues are the following:
1) Stock runflat tires offer very harsh ride. I replaced them.
2) Car did develop a couple of rattles - but dealer fixed them under warranty. Watch out for this when test driving the car.
3) Insufficient leg room in drivers seat for taller drivers.
4) Pretty poor - to the point of being embarrassing - bluetooth sound quality
Other than that the car is a joy to drive. The 8 speed gearbox and the fantastic engine make this car a winner. Best mid-size luxury car of 2008 in my opinion.
2010 and 2011 have more up to date nav/entertainment systems with XM traffic, hard drive navigation, built in MP3 player, bluetooth stereo etc. 2008-2009 lack those features, and for iPod you need an aftermarket system.

I love my 08 460. Unlike batman, I am 6'3' and feel that there is plenty of leg room. As for the rattles, my car has none but I bought my car CPO so the rattles may have all already been fixed. As for the iPod, There is an aux in so you can play your iPod but if you want to control it with the car you will need an aftermarket solution.
