Default My 08 vs my 11

Had my 2011 F for a couple weeks now and have def noticed some differences in the 2 cars. The ride quality in the 11 is much more forgiving, I live in a historic area with 100 yr old brick streets which really rattled my teeth when I would drive down them in the 08, much better in the 11. A very odd difference is my Joe Z exhaust is noticeably louder in my 11 vs my 08, not sure why but I'm not complaining. My wife and friends even noticed it's louder so it's not just me. Oddly enough the ML stereo in my 08 sounded better with much more bass than my 11 ML stereo. I tried adjusting the bass and even took it to dealer to see if something was wrong but it checked out fine. My SFP 11 def gets more attention than my 08 MM color which was to be expected, really the perfect color on this car in my humble opinion.

Went the exact route as you did, black 08 ISF to 11 grey ISF and noticed the exact "changes" as you did. There's definitely more rear end grip in the 11 when taking corners hard.

The ML in the 08 definitely was louder, esp the bass. Just have to crank it up a bit (or a lot) in 11. My bass and treble settings are at max.

Sounds like they toned down the bass to stop blowing subs at the expense of sound quality. Weird... The suspension is well documented. Another guy said that the 11s seem to have less punch when hitting the gas.

Where does the '10 model stand in terms of performance and "feel?" Does anyone have any personal experience?

Congrats again on the upgrade. I actually spent about 15 minutes this morning looking at this '11 with 10K less miles than my '09. Same color and everything. I'd worked it out in my mind to the point where it kinda made sense, lol. In the end though, I decided to stick with what I have. I definitely like your car though, good find.

congrats on the newer F!
On the models from 11 to now are better for sure but the previous models 08- 10 also not bad, if we want to upgrade just need the newer steering wheel ECU, coilover and the LED headlight . That's my 2 cent.

I wasn't really looking to get rid of my 08 but I have always wanted a SFP one and after a couple days of negotiating they gave me top dollar trade in price that I couldn't refuse, it was almost what I paid for it a year and a half ago. It's definite proof how well these cars hold their value.

I went from an MY08 to a MY10 and the suspension is definitely softer but still firm, the LSD changes the car reaction quite a bit for good. The engine seemed more vivid in my 08 than I feel it in my 10, the mpg seems marginally better though but I had a full exhaust with Joe Z intake in my 08 and I have not had the time to install them back on my 10.
As for sound quality I can not comment, I am not that much an audiophile and the components might differ between USDM and EUDM cars but the ICE system with HDD nav and bluetooth audio streaming is a welcome improvement over the 08 one

That's not an opinion, you're only speaking facts, my friend.

I don't know if you guys have ever done back to back testing but had my '10 and my buddy's '08 together than the seat bolstering is definitely different. The '10 is much wider and made obviously for fat american's. The '08 is a much tighter fit made for tiny little japanese people .

Anyone else notice that?

I believe that to be the diff as i have a 2011 rear diff in my 08 and it is much improved.
