Tire Preasure Sensor advice needed
Sup guys,
I just got my Lexy its a 2006 GS 430. will post pictures once I can.
I basically need some advice on how to deal with this annoying tire pressure light. Is it always going to be on or should I ignore it?? I have 2 alerts one that looks like
Red Triangle and the other is Yellow (!)
I went to the tire place twice and got the pressure checked still no luck. They reset it and asked me to drive on it for 20 minutes then it would go away that didn't happen.
I still have 20 days of full warranty bumper to bumper from the dealer I bought it off. Should I go back and ask him to check it out?
Also the brakes makes a grinding noise usually in the morning, and sometimes when I'm breaking and turning at the same time.
Please advise.

you can test the pressure monitors by setting the pressure to something lower than normal - set at 28psi. Initialize the system at the lower pressure which requires the engine to be on for 20 min or so. Once this procedure is complete, inflate to specs - 33psi and see if the sensor light goes out. On mine, the lights go out without 30 seconds after getting the inflation above the cutoff after I restart the car. If this solves it, reset the pressure at something closer to "normal".
Also check to make sure the switch in the glovebox for the second set of sensors didn't get accidentally switched off of primary.

The Tire shop cant program these, you need to go to a Toyota or Lexus dealer to get them linked up. I tried myself and its a temp fix then it trips. Lexus/Toyota did a good job with this since your forced to go to the dealer.

Go back to the dealer but if you want to reset yourself or at the tire shop make sure the parking brake is on during the reset process, the dealer also might switch the rims and tires with another car but not the sensors, if that happened, they need to reprogram the sensors, only the dealer can do this, good luck

make sure the "wheel set" button is set to the position that refers to the set of wheels and sensors that are currently mounted on the vehicle. This button is way under the dash on the passengers side under the left corner of the glove box. It often gets hit when you put packages, hand bag, or briefcase down low in that area.
