Default Navigation system * Map DVD / Firmware

After reading a bunch of messages here, it appeared to me that when you buy and install a new map DVD you were getting an updated map with new or changed roads, new POIs, etc. but it didn't really update any of the Nav Firmware to enable new features, fix previous bugs etc.
I even contact Lexus to see if they offered any firmware updates but was told not at this time (on the BMW we had both yearly Map DVD updates but an occasional firmware update (loaded via CD) to give you new features and fix prior version issues).

I just inserted the 10.1 DVD and at least one feature did change... no longer can I do the overide function (accessed via the volume/hidden menu) outlined elsewhere on this site.

So at least one function did change not just new roads and new POIs.

Default New way to do the NAV override function?

I had the same disappointment after updating to Gen4 v10.1

Does anyone know of a new way to do the overide function? I miss it.
