Spec.dock
I just googled how it looks and came across a DIY from IS forums, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...cs-inside.html and then I came across this http://stores.homestead.com/2point5/...V2I/Detail.bok

yeah, it's basically just a stand and you still have to go through all the cutting and stuff to connect the cable. 150 bucks sounds pretty pricey.
i also think it'd be cool if it can get deeper, but maybe the vents underneath is blocking.

the full kit isnt that bad. I wish I didnt have mine as I would like to try this out.
I wonder if there is really any cutting if it replaces the ash tray you can remove it from the bottom. Hopefully someone will try this out and post a DIY thread.

The other question I just sent them is if they can install a switch so I can select USB inputs between my iPHone which I would keep in the dock, and my iPod which I have in the armrest compartment.
no kidding, this is basically just a piece of plastic, nothing else. manufacturing cost is minimal
i am pretty sure you have to drill / cut. read the thread in 2is forum and that's an example. it replaces the "tray" inside the ashtray area, not the whole assembly as far as i can see, which is a close cover, so in order to run the wire you will have to cut something
