This is the part that goes bad. It controls the sensor that shuts off automatic headlights and detects if a door is open. Yours might look exactly the same. I replaced all 4 even though only 2 were really bad.

LUX2006, thank you for your kind reply.
This is a bit embarrasing, but I just realized that I somehow wound up in the wrong forum, I should have been here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...on-sensor.html
Just to show that my sensor is not in the same location:

Still useful... Several years later
I was having the same issue with my 2IS driver's side door courtesy light not coming in when I open the door. Light flickers then goes off. Mine was actually an issue with the sensor itself because the ground was totally fine. Sensor's a bit wiggly and those contract is partial. Might have to get a replacement sensor. But as a temporary measure, I've padded the inside of the rubber boot to stop the wiggling and so far light had stayed on😁. If it stays one when the door is open...🤪😜 I'm not gonna bother buying that sensor... Do I really need to buy that sensor?
Who knew a 10 year old thread would help my issues! This is why I love CL Forums👍🏽
