Default Remote fob battery low warning

So, after about 5 days "key not detected" warning showed up. I went to get a spare one, but that one was also not detected . The spare one was used maybe once, and has been sitting two floors above garage since. I got replacement batteries from Radio Shack, but still can't detect the key. I popped second battery (bought two sets), and same thing. I also noticed on different occasion the airbag light not going off.
This is 2008 GS450h, and I got it new. It has never been crashed, or flooded...
Does anyone know WTF??? First, it was a dashboard noise, and paint falling off, then park sensors going off when raining, and now this crap... I started questioning reliability of this car...
Thanks

The battery is CR1632, but if it comes to "proper" install you would probably need a genius to get it wrong

I will probably disconnect car battery for few minutes, which suppose to reset few things in the car. Hopefully that would fix it..
Thx

first of all, using the fob or not doesn't matter, the battery is still being drained at all time. this is because the fob is always actively emitting signal to communicate with the car. this is VERY different from the old remote where you press a button to activate the transmit to unlock doors

now on to your problem, with the new battery, if press the unlock button on the fob, does it work? do you see the red light on the fob? do the doors unlock? how about the other fob?

Thanks for chipping in..
I've replaced batteries on both fobs. The led on the fob does come on, but car doesn't respond to any pressed buttons (both fobs). I've pulled car's battery terminal for about 15 mins hoping car will reset itself, but no go.
I believe there should be some steps to reinitiate fob with the car after battery is replaced...
I'm really pissed off at this car right now. There have been so many things going on with it lately, and I don't have time dealing with it... Hopefully this can be resolved wihtout dropping it off at local dealership...
Thanks

I strongly believe there are some serious problems with electronics on this car. I just got "low tire pressure" warning, however, the air pressure is just fine in all tires....
I really feel like dropping it off at the dealer... for good.

umm, that doesn't sound right at all...... maybe it's dealership time.....

both our fob died as well not too long ago, and everything worked right the way after replacing the batteries. unless things are different for the 450h, which i doubt?
