the headlight and fog turn back on but the fog SLOWLY DIMS And the Shuts off.... Is this a ballas or a bulb problem it will stay on for 5 seconds MAX. so idk what to do.....

It must not be HID since it says it slowly dims.

If I turn it back on it just flashes and the turns back off ...

I've never seen an HID bulb to slowly dim, its either on or off. You sure you don't have OEM fogs with 9006 bulbs?

why does this seem like such a familiar scenario. I think after this many threads with this many owners having the same issues I think it would be wise to just leave it stock.

If it doesn't flicker on or make any sound (high pitch), it's almost positive the ballast is dead. From my experience, bulbs and ballast go out for different reason but if I had to say, bulbs go out more then often on a car with factory equipped HIDs. You can look at the bulb and there is a filiment like hour glass looking thing inside of the glass, usually that is dark/black which is a sign of an old bulb. Aftermarket HIDs are usually dead ballast due to improper mounting of the ballast or the cheaper ones anyways. People rig them in (zip ties) which leaves room for vibrations and with that over time it kills the internals.

Quick way to check it, unplug the bulb and flick on the lights. Do be careful you don't shock yourself or have any wires near by.

I was testing a ballast I sold to another member:

What I would do is put the stock bulbs in and see what happens. Main and fogs. HIDs don't usually fade out, they just flicker on and off.

I have been having this same issue with my car for the past month or so. I have aftermarket fogs 3k and aftermarket bulbs. When I bought the car, it had 6k fogs, noticed one was burned out so I changed out the whole thing to the 3k since i liked the color better. Problem solved up until a couple weeks ago where my driver headlight would shut off after 15 min of driving. I pretty much searched up all the threads on this issue but couldn't really solve the problem. Ended up trying to just drive with my foglights off completely to see if that might be the problem. Its been a week now and the headlight issue has not came back.. straaaange...
