Angry Just gotta vent!!!!

I live in Indianapolis Indiana. I drove to chicago to buy my Lex...cuz I got a good deal at a benz dealership that let me get it checked out at lex dealership before purchasing. .....

I am really pissed right now because the state of illinois just sent me a bill for $160.00 for $6.00 dollars worth of tolls I blew through in my 300M when going to buy it!!!!!(ok I had no change) $20.00 per .80 cent toll.....come on man... thats B.S!!! Then after 14 days they add $50.00 a violation to that???

Only a few dollars away from a set of springs.....im really salty right now! I dont even live in illinois.

Oh well..I paid it.....I need a shoulder to cry on.

You blow the toll gates, you pay the tab. No justification can get you out of it. What they charged got your attention and it would be safe to presume you will not blow through anymore toll gates.

This is why you should have an EZ Pass or your local equivalent. Once you have an account you can waive the fine if you are driving a different car. E.g If I go through without paying in the loaner car, I just call it in and they only charge the toll.

I blew through, probably some of the same tolls back in June driving through Chicago. I blew the first one because I couldn't get over safely and then remember something about being able to pay the tolls after the fact so I went through the rest of them on my way to WI. If you go online you can pay the tolls within so many days, don't remember the number off the top of my head. It's not the heard to do, all you need is the date, approximate time, your plate number and then select the toll plaza. You can put all of them together on one transaction and put them on credit card. I never received anything from the State IL after I paid them online, and I kept my confirmation email in case they did come after me.

seems right to me. If you blow the tolls they will fine you. Considering the financial condition of many of the states, towns, and cities they will screw you any way they can. I still think $160 is just a small addition to the price of the new ride.

Well, if u think the price was high for blowing through the
tolls, just think what the pricetag would have been
getting caught at 115 mph! U know what they say, if you
cannot say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
Nuff said?
