Default Adding a subwoofer

Dropped my car off last night to add a subwoofer to the trunk. Going with a single JL Audio 10" in the trunk. Hopefully, this will add the much needed low end boost that the car is lacking.

I find the bass in my car which is a non-ML to be very good actually, for a stock system. How much do you want? I grew out of wanting bass that overpowers the rest of the music a long while ago.

The other thing I'd be scared about if adding an additional subwoofer would be more rattles. It seems that the car has plenty of places that like the rattle all on their own without any additional help.

I definitely do not want a boom box. That is why I am going with a single 10" subwoofer with separate volume control mounted in the front. However, the bass in my opinion with the factory stereo is lacking at high volumes.

check the FAQ and you will find what your looking for I did this myself. With certain things its perfect with others its a bit much for my liking but the ML doesnt offer enough by itself. I just have to tune mine to get that perfect balance and havent had the time to play with it. I think you will be happy with the end results

Each person has a different feeling about BOOM... I feel the non-ML GS lacks bass so I replaced the factory subwoofer with a JL12". I like it.

funny thing I just picked up an IS loaner....first time I have heard the non-ML and IMO it sounds better?? I had a 2gen IS with ML and also my GS with ML and it sounds better to me. I would love to upgrade the stereo and go fully aftermarket. I was intrigued to see that custom dash kit in the japan 3gs thread that was recently posted. Dont like how the navi portion was mounted in the glove box but its not visible so I could live with it.
