So I fixed the problem of the light coming on for a few seconds then shutting off. The problem was on the passenger side when I was plugging in the bulb in with the wiring harness with the metal piece on it, I was incorrectly starting the twist to the right too late (started turning the fitting onto the back of the bulb at a different angle than what the factory had done) causing a piece of the metal plug to tough that little piece of metal prong towards the bottom and shorting the circuit. So this was an install error on my part . So anybody having this problem, it may not be a bad bulb, it could just be the way you are putting the socket back onto the back of the bulb.
