when you open up the trunk, look at the bottom side of the rear deck, toward the passenger side (by the hinges cover). it should be there. technically to install it, the trunk lining has to be cut to expose part of the xm tuner
in terms of installation i think doing the vaistech is a tad easier, the trunk install it a bit more involved

vaistech xm/sirius unit all plug to the back of the head unit, if it's there i am sure you'd have seen it when you did the sl2i-up.
if you ever get the chance to pull out the right side of the trunk lining (to expose the rear strut tower area, you should be able to find the harness where the shark fin antenna is run along side. maybe from there you can trace to see where the tuner is placed?
interesting!
really, that's interesting! i read the installation on the 07 and it should be at the top of the trunk.

our head units are sat "ready", meaning it can connect to a tuner and enjoy satellite radio. but you still need to pay for subscription. it's like your tv, you need to subscribe to satellite tv services in order to receive all the channels
but the sat/ is one times subscription or yearly? cause my mom bough the car brand new(not sure she'd paid for sat/ service at that time or not) but since she's gave me the car for over a year already, i still got sat/radio until now
.
.
you are not the first one, i also hear a few other cases where they paid but after subscription ended, it's still there
