Default I need spacers

The front of my rims are 20 x 8.5 +38 with 245/30. When I measure from the gap between the side wall of my tire to the inner fender, I get 35mm. Can I put in a 20mm spacer?

you will effectively make it 8.5 +18, that's pretty aggressive

you will likely rub the lower part of the fender unless you do a lot of modification in those areas

thanks Rominl. What size spacer would you recommend? I'm guessing a 10 mm spacer?

i want to try to get the front to match the look of the rear. I followed your DIY a while back because I was running overspec tires. That's all I really want to do with the fenders.

My overall goal was to get front spacers that will work with both my existing rims and my stocks since I want to use the ichiban V2. However to do that I will need to trim down my OEM studs since the back of my rims are flat.

well to give you an idea, you have 8.5 +38. i have 9 +37, which is the same as 8.5 +31 (outboard wise). so you know if you put a 7mm spacer up front, you will be close to what i have (considering we have the same size tires)

now on my front, i know i can probably go another 5mm or so, but my ride height is becoming a problem (you can look at pics of my car to see how low it is) and i will start to rub quite a bit more, especially around the 10 and 2 oclock positions. the problem will worsen when i am doing turns. at my current setup, if i am turning at higher speed and hit a bump, i almost guarantee a rub.

so you kind of get the idea there and see how much you want to try to push it out

I have a similar question, but will open a seperate thread if you guys don't mind. I think your offsets look okay, but you can go another 10 or 15mm no problem.

Henry I thought you were 9 +34? Not 9 +37 up front.

I was running 9 +35 up front with a 255/30 tire. I had rubbing in the spots that rominl posted in his DIY fender mod thread. Now that I am lower its a pretty big issue. 245 would help a little bit. I plan to push it more so will see how it works out being so low.

Mr Mark is running 9.5 and I believe +31 up front but he did pull his front fender.
