Default Morning startup time

When you guys start up your engine in the morning, do you let it idle for a couple minutes until it reaches 1000 RPM or do you just startup and drive off?

Startup and drive off. My engine runs flawlessly without being babied.

Start, kick into gear, rev and Go! With all 303 horses. Especially when a lame beamer is besides me at a stoplight.

Three mechanics that I trust have all said to let the car idle for 30 seconds to get the oil flowing and then go; keeping the rpms under 3,000 for the first couple miles.

If it's an older car (like my Trans Am or Buick), I'll let the car idle for 2-3 minutes before going.

For the most part, that's OK to do. Won't harm anything but trust me, it takes no where near 30 seconds to get the oil flowing properly.

The need to warm up the car went away well over a decade ago. Yet the myth that this is necessary to do will persist for another decade or two...
