What year is your vehicle? I only have the part numbers for the 2006.

The left and right sensors are the same. The only difference is the wiring harness on the passenger side is longer, if that helps

mine is 2006 GS300 AWD. Thank you for the info, I am reading the reviews on the Denso part you have posted on amazon and it got very good reviews. I might buy it instead of the Toyota one as most of the reviewers are saying its the same but branded either Denso or Toyota...

The only risk I am taking is if the ECU needs to be updated and its not the O2 sensor fault or I end up buying the old O2 sensor and not the newly redesigned one.

The new style wont work properly unless your ECU has been flashed. Some ECUs can't be flashed and have to be completely replaced. Personally, If I have to replace my sensor (the code hasn't come back yet) I will try the old style first.

Check the bulletin L-SB-0092-09 for the procedure to find your code to see if yours can be flashed. This will help you decide how to proceed. Replacing the ECU wont be cheap.

Ordered a Denso O2 sensor and it was an identical match to the one that was pulled from the car, my buddy installed it and cleared the code but unfortunately the code P2198 came back again, the thing the car feels more responsive now and a noticeable gain in MPG, no fuel or rotten eggs smell anymore. This is the reading from the scanner, can you guys see anything wrong in the attachment:

Just back from the Lexus dealership, it is that bulletin indeed and total cost is $3170 with taxes. I will need a new computer engine $1400 as it can't be flashed and two O2 sensors, PCV valves and an oil change + 3 hours labour...

Sorry to hear that. How many miles do you have? Are you going to have them do it? I imagine if you installed it yourself they wouldn't warrant the ECU. Mine hasn't come back on. Pretty sure I'm going to trade mine in this spring while I can still get something out of it.

I have 146,000 miles, their total labour is $850 and they are pricing each O2 sensor at $250 each and $200 for an oil change. I can live with this problem as its not affecting the engine other than fuel consumption and the stupid light every once and a while I get. The new computer part is # 89666-30365 which I will try to find used for couple hundred from a junk yard, and I don't think I will need a new set of keys as this was not mentioned in the estimate that I got from them.

I like this car and I won't be selling anytime soon as I don't like the new GS models, they made them shorter/smaller.
