9.1 is the current version that came out in September of 2009. The 2007 came originally with v6.1 dated 2006
Actually, i have an 07 GS450h, but it was orignally sold in July of 06 (as an 07 model car), so it had the 5.1 DVD. nightmare. i upgraded that crap to 9.1. there's still errors, but it's better at least.
I wish that when someone called on the bluetooth the map still stayed on screen. Someone always calls and I miss my damn exit =(
that is the easiest fix ever. U just hit Map(Voice) again and it takes you back to the Nav screeen, but without the voice guideance. All the turn by turn directions still appear on the screen, even during a call.
$50 for a gen 5 dvd 9. certainly a good price other than no way to know the origin of the 'auction' where it was purchased by the seller. usual buyer beware stuff i guess.
I have a 2004 LS-430 and a 2007 ES-350 with the original navigation discs in them. What do I need to do in order to update the Nav system? Will the new 9.1 work without previous updates?

yes 9.1 can work without previous updates
you just need to make sure you tell dealerships or vendors your exact model and year so they can get you the right disc
I just installed 9.1 in my 450h and it had a lot more map updates than listed in the pdf. The pdf only listed a few updates for AR and none were in my area but once I installed it all the new subdivisions in my area as well as ramp layouts and many other corrections were included. I had 8.1 before so I know these updates were part of 9.1. I have heard some talk about updates in the voice recognition in 9.1 but I do not know and have not tried it yet, does anyone know about this?
