I'll ask another way 300 vs 350
If you were looking at 2 identically optioned cars with 60,000 miles
the first a 2006 gs300 for X price
how much more would you be willing to spend for a 2007 gs350 with the same miles and options
the first a 2006 gs300 for X price
how much more would you be willing to spend for a 2007 gs350 with the same miles and options
Different people are going to base that on different factors, so it really only matters how much more you would be willing to spend.
Edit-
Let me be less of a *#*# about it...perhaps a hypothetical (or real) pricing scenario would yield some discussion that might be helpful to you in making or backing-up your decision. Give the prices - $2X,000 vs $2X,000 - and ask which would forum members pick/why?
I really think that your initial question is too vague and open-ended.

Step 1: Determine how much you want to spend on a car.
Step 2: Buy the best car you can find for that money.
Step 3: Enjoy whatever you end up with.
Start with a budget and work with that, not the other way around, that's how people make themselves poor.

i agree with jay. get a car that you feel comfortable with the price, that way you always end up with the car you really enjoy
Is the shark fin the "wing" on the trunk lid? If so, my 06 GS300 has it. Also, I believe the GS300 will get better fuel economy based on having a 3 liter engine vs a 3.5 in the 2007. I am very pleased with my 06.

Not sure about that statement. Not everyone cares for it. Completely subjective, IMHO.I love my 350. If you get a 300 and love it, then that's all that matters. Test drive both of these two identical cars (I know this is a hypothetical question) and you will know what that extra amount is that YOU'RE willing to pay.

haha yeah, to each his own. personally, the shark fin is a statement - it says yes, this is a luxury car. But I guess it comes down to fuel consumption and power. and of course cost, but make sure you dont regret it after the purchase.
