Default Park Assit Sensors

Hello every one I have a 06 GS300 with park assist and drive with function on and it's wigging out when ever I come to a stop my front center sensor goes off and beeps nothing in front of me and still beeping could this be a bad sensor or some kind of electrical problem. Has anyone else gone through this Thank You in advance.

I went through a similar situation not to long ago. Every time I came to a stop the sensor would go off but as soon as I got going it would stop. Got out and looked at the sensor, there was a dead bug right on the sensor setting it off. Cleaned it off and problem went away.

Mine freaks out if it's snowing a lot and the sensor gets snow/ice buildup on it. I turn it off in this situation.

Yeah make sure there is nothing around it, wax, anything...they are sensitive.

lol, that happened to me the other day, we had a few thick coats of snowfall up north GTA and when I was parked, the snow cause the sensors to go off. These things are damn sensitive.

My sensors tweak with snow + car washes. Otherwise they work perfect and won't own another car without them hah.

+1 I've been in cars with just the backup cameras and find that parking sensors are far more useful for fitting into tight spots as they'll let you know how close you are all around. I have to say, it's one of my favorite features of the car - I don't worry at all about my wife backing into my motorcycle which is parked behind in the same spot in our condo garage. It's also kind of cool that it can tell you which way you should turn your wheel and how much to avoid hitting the obstacle.

I do wish they were a bit smarter in detecting things and could somehow only detect things that are more than half an inch or something away from the sensor so they won't flip out when something is actually resting ON the sensor.

One tip is to put them in dynamic instead of static mode so they only go off when the car detects that running into something is unavoidable. It reduces it's chattering quite a bit. I am just really glad that it doesn't talk.

Press the Info button and then go to the Park Assist menu and you should be able to change it to the dynamic to static and vice versa
