if I recall correctly it was the fuel rail and only on certain models, V6 only I believe. My GS430 was not part of this.

Can somebody confirm this, I searched everywhere online and cant find recall details.

I smelled a gas leak last week and looked around and didn't notice anything. But this moring after washing my car I notice some significant stains around the gas tank area like its been leaking and I'm always very careful not to drip gas after re-fueling...

U sure it's the gas and not from rain or some other liquid?

Funny...mine came back with less fuel than it had when I brought it in. But yes, the recall is there. However, I highly doubt that it would actually cause a gas leak unless it was exposed to ethanol for a really long time. So it may be something else.

What's up with the different internals in the 300 and 430 from 2006? I figure they would mostly use the same internals, but air filters are different, 430 still uses timing belts, and a bunch of other things. They look the same on the outside.

Yup it's gas 100% sure and just double checked.. Took a clean rag and tried to clean the area but it seems like it took off a bit of paint and left behind a brown discoloration on paint. Taking my car to dealership tomorrow morning

I would get them to tow it if the leak is significant, as it can be dangerous to drive it.

Sounds like you're not talking about the gas tank you're talking about the gas cap.

Did you ever get your car rust proofed? That oil will run out of the gas cap area for quite a while afterwards and it can look/smell like gas sometimes. They spray a lot in there.

Other than that, I wonder if your gas cap lid is leaking. The pressurized gas fumes can be leaking past the o-ring and condensing inside the gas door and leaking out. It might not be a "fuel leak" per se, but it could still be leaking fuel this way. Eventually you'll get a check engine light if it keeps up or gets worse.

And yes, gas is bad for paint, it's quite the solvent.

In Canada it's called "Club Lexus" but this is where you can log in and check for outstanding recalls based on your VIN:
