Default AFS and Headlamp Washer Button

I've been reading some posts on the headlamp washer and recall someone mentioning whether Lexus puts in the button in a car that isn't equipped with the option. I have both of these buttons but neither appear functional. I certainly don't have the washer since the headlamp housing doesn't have the washer slot.

Anyways, it's a bit frustrating when you thought those existed when test driving the car and it turns out it isn't there. Both of these options would be of some use to me in salt treated Northeast roads and would just be neat to have AFS.

Does anyone know for sure whether Lexus does this?

I have a 2007 GS 350 by the way.

Thanks

Wow! That's odd! I don't think they would do that. It would be extremly misleading, as you're experiencing that now. FWIW, I've never seen a 3GS without the two said features and it makes me wonder if there's some history with the vehicle that you don't know about, assuming you bought it used???

Also, for less common features like Parking Sensors and rear shade, cars without these options have the buttons non-labeled. Not sure if the buttons are physically there or if they're just blanks though.

It's part of the chrome trim. Turn your headlights on, then use the washer button. When you walk back out in front of your car, you will probably find a wet mess.

It also makes a good spraying noise.

If only you could point the nozzle the other way... It'll be like a water gun. Pew pew pew!

I guess you don't have them. Its' not user freindly anyway... if you only want to use windshield wipers at night (with the headlights on of course) you will also turn on the headlights washer. It bugs the heck out of me because the headlights washers will wet your car if you do not plan to have a car wash...

Yeah, I found it odd. I'm bringing in the car to fix the dash rattle tomorrow. It's been serviced through the lexus dealer since it was owned. According to the records, its mainly just routine maintenance. I'm going to ask them about it though. It is somewhat misleading. I can't imagine that the car has been in an accident and the people that fixed it didn't repair it to full functionality (i.e., headlamp housing).

I know there is no headlamp washer since the chrome trim is solid (i.e., no hidden washer).

Will let you guys know tomorrow.

I have a 2007 GS350, and both options are present. Strange...but I originally couldn't find the headlight washer since the chrome trim looks like a solid piece, but pops up when headlights are turned on and you press the button.

I thought the same with mine. Mine only works when I am going over 6 mph. Looks like some are different. Some have succes when parked and lights on.

So in the 17 months I've owned my car, I never knew that the headlamp washers came on when spraying my windshield. I assume it only does this when the headlamps are on, but still...I thought that's what the button was for. Glad my car is dirty and I hadn't just washed it...I'd be pissed with the amount of overspray that comes from those headlamp washers.
