The way it differs from more advanced ones is that it lacks torque vectoring that Acura's SH-AWD and Mitsubishi's S-AWC have, which use the wheels that have traction and not the ones that don't. I'm not sure what Subaru has, but its probably similar. I believe BMWs xDrive DPC on the X6 has torque vectoring as well. Not sure about Audi, I think they don't have something like that yet.
I think comparing a GS's AWD system to the Quattro and the Subrau is like shooting for the moon, the Quattro and Subura is among the best AWD system there is.

Sorry to see you leave, but you DO have your priorities in the right order, as others have said. If your post was 2 weeks ago, I could've traded you my 98GS400 (+ some $)for your AWD! Good luck with your house hunting and post new photos of your new GS.

Damn man I just sold you the tanabe exhaust like 3 weeks ago ( if even). I would have thought she would have been around for a while. Enjoy the 2GS. Hope to catch you at an AZ meet.

Over here, the GS might cover the down payment for a 1 bedroom condo...which would go for 300k or so. You folks have dirt cheap housing (with the exception of New York and San Francisco)...can't get anything in Vancouver for less than a million unless its a crack shack or over 50 years old.

Your license plate doesn't say "Beautiful British Columbia" for nothing. In the mid 80's, my military unit spent some time there in an exercize with the Canadian Forces at an installation known as COMOX. We had some days off which some of us spent in Victoria. I feel it's one of the most beautiful areas I've ever had the opportunity to be in.
