Well, it's happened again. I've done an about face on another car. A minute ago I was reading about the new Ferrari FF. The first time I saw this car I thought it was tremendously ugly. I'm reading the words and looking over the pics and it hit me, that car is not as ugly as I thought. I had to laugh at myself. How many other cars did I do this with? Here's my list.

1. 3GS - Yes, I initially thought they were ugly comparef to the 2GS. Then my wife begged me to let her get one. A year later I wanted one for myself.
2. Panamera - Another one of those first impression flops. Now I think it's one of the most unique cars on the market.
3. Camaro - First time I saw it I thought it was too retro. Now I think it's a good mix of retro cues with modern styling.
4. Saab 9 3 - One of the most iconic shapes in automotove history.
5. VW Beetle - I really thought it looked like a bug you wanna squash. Now I think it's a cute girlie car.
6. Lambo Countach - Still not in love with it but I no longer think it's ugly.

I'm sure there are some I can't remember at the moment but this is enough to get the thread started. Chime in with your "about face" cars.

 

ford fusion - i hated the fusion when it came out cause it had the same chassis and engines as the mazda6 and looked butt ugly. It also had better options such as the 3.5L V6 and an awd option, then when the newer styling and hybrid came out, i finally caved and agreed it was a very nice car with a lot of drive train options. It also wasnt COTY for nothing

 

Sure there have been many I have done the exact same with. Only one that immediately comes tomind would be the new Jaguar XJ. Hated this car, initially, as pics do this car no justice. Now, I just stop and stare whenever I see one on the road. First time, in a long time, I feel that ANY car has a DEFINITE road presence.

 

Acura ZDX... I though it was ugly first, now I think its stunning in black.
