Question Auto Folding Mirriors Help

Hey everyone im new to the lexus world as i was driving my buddys gs300 i like it so much that i today went and ordered a 2010 gs350awd for myself. My question is about the power folding mirriors do they fold when you lock the doors or something(AUTO). i know that you can manaully make the fold by the button but i as i was waitin outside to go home after i did all the paper work i seen an ls model the mirrior's folded thenmself when the person test driving locked the doors. I asked the saleperson if i had that cool option he said i should. which made me think he wasnt sure. so im askin you guys the more knowledgeable one does the 2010 gs350 awd have auto-folding mirriors option.

thnkx in advance ppls

unless the 2010 model changed then no Auto Fold like the LS. You push the button when you want to fold them in.

Congrats on the New Car

power-adjustable, auto-folding outside mirriors with defoggers, puddle lamps,

Why not just test drive a GS there and see if it does it? They may have it in some markets. Where are you located?

there is an aftermarket module that allows you to do this. I remember seeing it on a black gs on here that had those velvet curtains in the back passanger windows.

lol, yup, it's auto-folding, you don't need your hand to fold them. but that's different from folding together with the engine on/off

once you think about what's manual folding, then you can imagine what's auto-folding

well at least that's how i think of it

^^^^ He said it right. You got yourself too much into the word "auto" and what it really means here.

I believe it should be easy enough electronically to make this an option, so when you get your car and get its settings customized, see if it is something that can be set in options.

And let us know.

as fragile as the inner-workings of these mirrors are...not sure that making them fold all the time would be a good idea.

I am with you, if you are trying to protect them from damage, so you dont haveto replace them, the wear and tear on the plastic gears will wear them out much sooner

How fragile are they really? How many people have actually had issues with it? How many less people have the same problems with the same types of mirrors on other cars?
