Default Problem with doors???

Has anyone had a problem with their two front doors on their Lexus GS350? My passenger door has trouble opening and now my driver door is doing the same. I sprayed down the hinges with WD40 but it still didn't help. When I brought it to the dealer they said the hinges need to be replaced and that it wasn't covered under my extended warranty (60,000 miles). Doesn't this seem like a problem that Lexus should take care of? Anyone had this?

welcome to the forum

i haven't seen this problem before, but i guess the question to ask them is, what's covered by the extended warranty then?!

Unfortunately the extended warranties are very restricted in my past experience. They are usually inclusive of a specific list of items, rather than exclusive of certain items.

The only suggestion I have for you is to stop using WD-40, it's not really much of a lubricant. What you want is white lithium grease, which is cheap as chips and you can find it at any kind of automotive store (you'll notice that the hinges on every car are covered in an ugly white or cream coloured substance). The WD-40 is probably doing little for you other than making the problem worse by removing any lithium grease that might be left on there.

Phew...I thought it was just me! I've had this occur with both rear doors before. Very rare and not sure what I did to get them opened but they opened eventually!
