I am getting a CEL and the code says my Bank 2 Sensor 2 is bad. Looking at it I can tell this is going to be a pain. Looks like I will need to disassemble some interior to get to where it plugs in. But how the heck to you unscrew it from the pipe? There is a case around the outside the covers over the fitting so i can't get a wrench on it. Does anyone know the trick?

Thanks

Chris

The 2ndary 02 sensors have an outer casing-a special socket is needed to slip in the casing to loosen the sensors.

I wouldn't even bother touching any emission related components for a possible DIY fix since they are all covered under federal emission warranty which is longer than the standard Lexus warranty...do not erase the codes-bring the car to the dealer.

It was easy to change it once I got the tool. First O2 I have seen like this.

O2s aren't covered by extended emissions warranty are they?

Heh.... sorry. I used this existing write up. It is identical for our cars:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...placement.html

I also used the universal Bosch O2 replacement and cut wires to splice it in:

Match wires this way:
Ours Bosch
Blue Black
White Gray
Black White
Black White

I disconnected the battery while I was doing the swap reset the codes in the PCM and then reset the windows/sunroof and was done. Took about 45min
