MP3 Connection Ideas
I'm looking for ideas on a mp3 connection for my '06 GS. It didn't come stock so I'd like to add it so I can play music from my iPOD Touch. I want something relatively inexpensive but nice & looks clean. Thanks.

I installed UPAC-TOY1 part on my 06 GS430 and its almost the same as VIAS. Gives you playlist/artist and all the stuff for iphone or ipod. What it also does is provide AUX input with a second cable. Buy.com had it for $99. I would recommend you take a look at it.

Hey guys newbie here....sort of (been watching from the sidelines for over a year). Any way I purchased my 07' GS 350 (pristine condition, 8k miles) back in February. I had been using the "tape method" while doing my research on ipod/iphone connectivity solutions on the forum. I recently purchased the Vaistech kit from a local Toyota dealer and I'm very pleased with the outcome. It's been a game changer for my GS. Just wanted to thank you guys for the in depth opinions. Vaistech was well worth the money.
Also for anyone contemplating on reasons why. One big thing for me was the override option. The interface is great but a some of the options disable when the vehicle is in motion. If you press the "scan" button 8 times it disengages the controls allowing you to stream directly through the stereo. Not only can this simplify the control of Ipod audio it will also allow you to stream from iphone apps like Pandora etc!

Clark which Vaistech kit did you purchase at the dealer? Do they offer the installation? If so can you share how much? I just purchased my 3GS and reading all the posts I am convinced this is the way to go. However, I don't want to try and wing it myself. If anyone knows a good installer in So. Cal please let me know!

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, try this, anyone who has a t-mobile G1, go get your WIRED headphone set, unhook the headphones part, put in the cassette adapter part, play your phone's music, go to town... i guarantee you 100% that it will sound 10x better than an iphone/zune/any music player you have.... for some reason it just DOES! i didn't effin believe my fiance till she did it in my car, i was AMAZED! the sound quality was better than CD!(within reason, because i listen to nothing but burned CDs)

I'm with the Vaistech guys on here. I was confused as hell when deciding what to get, how to install, what the functions were. But reading around on here, and seeing some of the gurus and veterans, made my decision easier.
I went with a SL2-Vi w/ a Prestigious Society kit and haven't regretted.
I still use the tape deck, because I stream live radio from my iPhone through an app, and the Vaistech can't pick that up.
I just wish the Vaistech has an option to play NON Apple related products as well. Right now, I can only play Ipod/Iphone type connections. My friends can't play their MP3 Players in my car, other than using tape deck.
Good luck searching.

i bought a dice. i think it's just as good as the vias unit and a crap load cheaper. it was $105 with free shipping on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
i had it like 3 days after winning it. anyways, my .02 cents.
