Yeah, the Yokohama OEM AVID are crap in the rain! Previous car was a BMW with German made Michelin and they stuck like chewing gum to the road!

stating the obvious, but worn out tires can be very dangerous in rain even with the traction control. hydroplaning while you are just cruising in a straight line is not the most fun experience.

I had posted about this a few months back myself. My experience with the GS, comparing it to the IS350, its not as good in the rain. I have good tires that are new so IMO its the car. Yes certain tires are better then others but I do not have cheap tires on my car either. The car seems to come out very easy when taking turns in the rain compared to other cars I have owned.

You just need to know the limits of the car and how it reacts under certain circumstances IMO.

Its most likely the tires. You are probably on an older set of tires and you live in the part of the country where the road temps are dropping daily. I wonder if this turn is close to the house and you haven't had time to even heat them up. Switch tires and you will see a nice improvement
