HID Fogs Require Bumper Removal?
No....you can access them from the front fender liner "or" you can access from under the car just as you would change the oil. Easiest at home IMO is to turn the wheel hard one way and access that side then do the other side.
I would recommend removing the bumper to install the ballast and so on correctly. Don't rig the ballast in place, find a spot and actually drill and mount them properly. This can prevent premature ballast failure.

mine took almost 3 hours..
i didn't find it difficult, but time consuming for the first timer.. just like *187* mentioned, i found it easier to remove bolts from the bottom of bumper also.. there's a DIY somewhere..

I'm on my blackberry right now so i might be missing some of the thread but it seems to be split pretty even as to whether i should/shouldn't remove the bumper. Does this sound right? Turn the wheels, remove a few clips and screws from the wheel well, pop the hood, remove the engine covers, find a mounting location for the balasts, and drop the wires down through th front bumper, replace the existing fods with the HID kit?Thanks Again for all the replie. , you do not need to remove the bumper to install HID kit for your FogLight.It only took me less than 20 minutes to removed the old bulbs and installed new HID kit (I sticked mine on the side of the bumper, they have been on it for almost 3 years without any issue)!!!
Here is the quickie (turn the wheel away from the side you are working on):
1. Remove two plastic screws from the front fender;
2. gently pull the fender well open, enough room to remove the old bulb;
3. wipe new HID bulb with rubbing alcohol, to remove finger oil and foreign object might be on the bulb;
4. also wipe the back of ballast (then stick with 3M double-sided tape), and the location where you are going to stick the ballast (to clean and remove foreign objects on the surfaces);
5. install new HID bulb, and connect all wires;
6. make sure it lights up before you stick the ballast and close up the wound;
7. repeat 1~5 on the other side;
8. VERY IMPORTANT, start up the engine and turn on newly installed HID FogLight and let it burn-in for at least 15~20 minutes; this step would prevent pre-mature burn-out on the HID bulb!!!
NOW ENJOY!!!

not sure what you mean by aftermarket product name, unless you mean where do people buy them from? I got mine through hidextra.com
i wouldnt say they are the same quality as hid headlights but they are just as bright.

That's just what i needed! Thank you all. I'm placing my order @ XenonDepot for a few reasons:1.) They are a trusted CL vendor so if there's a problem with the order/bulbs explode/etc, I think they'll back their product. 2.) Many CL peeps have used them so Im confident the 6000k lows and 6500k fogs will look great. 3.) I like their web site's explanation of why they use 35w ballasts vs 55w. I just wish they had a 6000k 9005 HID kit so my low beams and fogs would be the same color. Thanks Again. Darius//On a blackberry so excuse the typos.
