O7 or newer 3GS models? I ordered and just received my GROM Audio unit. Beside the fact I'm getting the same problem as others mentioned before (LINK) about songs not being recognized from USB stick (have to turn car on/off, switch between radio and CD, and sometimes plug/unplug USB stick to make it work), I also can not see song titles on my NAV screen. I know that others with stereos without NAV screen can just see CD# and Song#, while those with 2006 GS300 (and different car firmware) are able to view song title, I can not see that in my 2007 GS350. The "folder list" button in the upper right corner disappears and I don't have other way to view song title.

Just wondering if anybody with 07 or newer 3GS and GROM Audio have similar or different experience?

 

Most of the members on this board are running the Vaistech units. I have one and it's absolutely flawless. That said, I'm not sure how many responses you'll get.

Isn't it covered under a warranty or some sort? Turning on and off your car just to switch sources must utterly suck.

 

create a switch for the power wire OR the remote wire for the GROM unit, so you don't have to turn off and on your car over and over... takes about 5 minutes(LITERALLY) and it saves a lot of wear and tear on your vehicle =]

 

I have VaisTech SLS (for Sirius only), and adding VaisTech MMLinQ to play songs from USB stick will be additional $300. GROM is a little over $100 with the same functionality, and it seems when I search the net I find more positive feedback about this unit than negative. USB stick recognition is not too much of my concern because its strictly between their own supplied USB stick and their own audio interface module. I'm sure they can improve/fix it with their own firmware. My concern is that 2006 3GS can view titles of the songs, while 2007 3GS can not display that. The difference is our own Lexus firmware, and GROM box doesn't support '07. That is something I'm not sure they can fix soon enough before my 30-day money back expires. I was just hoping someone with '07 has the same setup and can share if they experience the same.
