Today I was listening to Billy Cobham (I am a drummer) off the USB drive and my son (he is a guitarist ) asked if I could play John Scofield, I hit the media button on the dash and when I tried to select the file with the pointer it froze, then after a couple of minutes it unfroze and the pointer disappeared altogether! To add insult to injury, when the map appeared displacing the larger audio screen, there was only the city and street name, but no map. So audio would only play Billy Cobham and no map.

When I arrived at my destination I shut the car off, we ran some errands and then turned the car back on and the audio and map were back to behaving properly. I was able to select John Scofield and the street map re-appeared. I had some disruption to the map service during some hard winter storms this past year, but nothing like I encountered today. Has anyone had a similar experience, does anyone know the cause?

 

yes, but in my case there was nothing on the screen, i didn't even have use of the back up camera, and the audio turned itself off, there was also no haptic sound from the mouse when i clicked it. turned the car off then back on and it was as if there was never a problem. dealer says it may have been an update (yeah right BS). i still don't think anyone knows why it happens. i no longer have that car so..... maybe someone will chime in with an answer.

 

We were on the highway (QEW) and there is this gigantic and I mean gigantic celluar phone tower in the shape of a cross (go figure) nearby. I been wondering if it is related to this event.
