Does anyone have any pictures of painted 3rd gen gs engine covers? I'm looking forward to painting mine very soon and I want to get some ideas for the paint job.

 

i thought there was a dude from australia with a silver gs that painted his engine cover a royal blue(f-sport)?? forgot his sig name.

 

may want to search the 2gen GS430. May find more have done this and its the same cover we have.

yea....I like the one with the red engine cover looks great.

i think the red with black emblems will look better, the red on black makes me think of G.I. Joe Cobra, but in the end its what you like

 

On a related note, do you guys have problems closing the hood? I have to slam mine multiple times to get it to close. Dealer said that was normal...so I don't bother opening the hood to show the engine to anybody.

 

I have no problems with closing my hood, plus I don't think that your problem is a normal thing. The dealer is bsing you, so he wouldn't have to deal with it. You should able to close the hood easily, in your case you might have a worn spring or something close to that.

 

You should go get it check out.......

 

Thanks. They said they lubricated it because I complained, but that it was "normal." That didn't make a difference, however. I have an oil change coming up soon...so I will bring it up again.
