Car Washes at Dealership?
I get mine done at the delaership all of the time. I usually have them hand wash it ( per my service advisors request) because of the large wheels . I have never had any issues and trust me I am a detail freak.
I say dont worry about swirls. I wash my car every week and do have some swirls in direct sun light but I am having the car professionally detailed and they will get rid of all of that. The guys I go to are the official detailers of the Barrett Jackson car show. They have detailed 5 million dollar Ferraris, I am sure they will be great with my car

Wash it at the dealer....AT YOUR OWN RISK. Not thinking too much about it, I let them wash my car after some service.
I found large scratches on the driver side passenger door. Looked like the drying towel had a rock in it or something.
To fix it, dealer took it to their local bodyshop for a wetsand. If you look closely you can see it but it is 90% gone.
If you accept the dealer wash, inspect THOROUGHLY before leaving. Better yet, skip the dealer wash and do it yourself.
I have a sign that I put in my car that says "do not wash car" when I am at the dealer.
Better safe than sorry guys.

I get my free car wash every week at the Sewell Lexus, is only 5 minutes away from my office!!!
Never have any issue with their services, they always clean the inside of the vehicle too!!!
Then every 3~4 months I will have my toy detailed, either doing it myself or have Brian Hare do it for me(http://www.detailwerkz.com/index.html). He only use ZAINO or GLOSS IT, and he will come to you either at your home or office!!! Look at one of his rescue work on this LP640 (http://www.glossitonline.com/cars/37...treatment.html)

As others point out, do it at your own risk. Probably also depends on color as white and silver hides swirls and scratches abit more than black or gray. I've had them wash a few times and there's always new scratches I find afterwards. This past time, they used some harsh chemicals or soap that jacked the clearbra....there are bubbles and streaks that aren't coming off.
Not to mention they dented my car in 4 places corresponding to the lift arms, but that's another story I'm dealing with.

NO GO at the dealerships. They just hire some cheap labor to do the washing, the last time I had them wash it they did a poor job and I had to re-wash it anyways. Not to mention if you have aftermarket wheels theyll probably eff them up with their cleaners. Do it right the first time and wash it yourself.
