Sold!! Wow, I've been trying to decide on what wheels to get for my 06 flint mica gs300 and those photos sealed the deal. Thanks for posting, I will be lowered on nf2,s so what off set would you recomend,( no big brake), and do I have the option of 19,s and what dealer do you suggest I get these in so cal?
Whats the best wheel/tire size combo to get that "filled out" wheel well look without lowering? I have a 2006 GS300 AWD I just bought and I want to put some wheels on it for the warmer months. I live in Buffalo, and we get snow 5 or 6 months out of the year, so lowering it would be not such a good idea.
^ I am lowered in Chicago with no issues in the snow. If you are going to put rims I would lower it some even if only a 1" drop or it will look funny due to the wheel gap.
Thanks guys... BTW whats with the gap? I have had a Caddy DTS, threw on 22's and it filled the wheel well more then the factory wheels did. Same with my 63 Continental... is it the way the GS is built, or did they make the well's extra big?
PS. passnu2, my GS is Matador red too, HOT!
we have a lot of wheel gap on our cars to start with. If you where to put 22" rims it would fill up if that is what you are looking for. You are running overspec tires and rims at this point so that makes it look or appear to be less.
If you go with 20" (as I have) or 19" rims and run spec size tires you will have a decent gap. I would lower the car 1" if not more but that's my opinion. You have some good options in this thread to get an idea from extreme to mild drop with all kinds of different rim specs.
I am actually going lower with my car in the next few weeks here. I will post pics once I have everything installed.

the tire diameter is among the smallest of all cars in this class.
smaller than infiniti. way smaller than american muscle like camaro, stang, 300c
what about putting a slightly larger tire on it for a larger diameter? My local custom shop recommened 245/30 tires, what about 245/35? It will give it 1" extra diameter, a lil more cushion and fill the well up a lil extra. I know this will throw off the speedo a hair, 60 on the speedo will actually be 62... will this set up work with a 20x8.5 wheel or will I need a slightly narrower wheel?
2006 GS300 AWD... thanks!

another problem is the rubbing.
we have big wheel arches, small wheel wells, and small tires.
if you get wheels and do not lower the car it will look goofy.
i dont think you understand overall diameter. if you get 20s with the correct size tire, the overall diameter of your wheel will not change and really your wheel gap will not change either. it will look like it has because there will be less tire to fill the well.
they only way to fill the wheel well without lowering is to overspec the tire with something too big, then you run into the problem of rubbing on a lot of things. i have 22s and even i lowered my car.

I do understand overall diameter (see my post #84). I was trying to see if I could put a larger diameter tire on there to nix out a lil of the gap. After some searching I discovered I could... Will it be enough? Prolly not tho
Thanks!
LExus actually has the proper diameter for tires, the ratio is small but its correct. Infiniti has a fatter sidewall but the Lexus ride is still smoother amazingly.
I don't like big wheels and big tires, looks yucky. It should be big wheels and low profile tires.
