So, I was driving along after a 3 hour drive home, not too far away from my house and my driver side front tire blew out! No warning, no, sensor saying it was low until it blew out. The runflats did not live up to their name, they were making all types of noise, i was very scared to screw something up. Pulled over and called tow truck. The lexus people were telling me you can drive on it, they are runflats.... I doubt they would pay the bill when it damaged the rim or worse. I have never seen this on a tire and surprised it happened on a runflat. Thank god i wasnt going too fast when it happened.

I feel like this has to be defect: Sorry for the crappy pic at night with a cell phone:

It could be a defect, but I think bad installation is more likely.

i once had the side wall of my run flats comprimised. I drove about 10 miles before i had to give up without causing more damage. any damage to the sidewall or edge where the tire and rim meets is bad news on any tire.

They are saying its due to impact which I dont buy. Pretty absurd, a $400 tire cant handle some bumps?

Did you hit a big pot hole? If not ask them to prove to you it was due to a impact. Looks like a defect to me, Are those Dunlops?

I hit potholes everyday. I believe they are, dont recall out of town now. pissed, though I have driven on these roads in my lowered porsches with 18's and 19's with 25 series tires and never had this happen. Lexus will be getting a note from me.

Well, if dont try to avoid big potholes, you may have possibly cause the tire damage.
