Can you add navigation and backup cam to a non navi 2006 gs? thanks!

you mean add factory setup? forget it, it will cost way too much. makes a lot more sense to just go aftermarket

no not factory setup, but use the non navi screen for an aftermarket unit. I guess my question is... is there an aftermarket navi brain that can connect and be viewed through a non navi gs screen?

i hope i didnt confuse the both of us lol... i know i know im a noob

i've never seen one.

but it would be cool if you could hook up a garmin, and output the screen to the factory screen

That would be very cool indeed. Anyone who is more knowledgeable with electronics want to chime in? I would love to see if it's capable, and if it's cost efficient.

I think you can get one of those navi (works w/ non navi screen too) video converters that cost about $300 that allows the screen to accept a composite signal. There are some aftermarket units that don't have their own screen with the sole intent to output.

that sounds like something i should be researching on. any brands i should look into? any leads will be appreciated. thanks!

you can call stereo fx and see if they can do it. There pretty good bout audio im pretty sure they can do it.

I doubt it, since the screen is touch screen it also controls your hvac and audio controls. Sounds way too complicated and not worth it. Best way is to get $300/$400 tom tom and stick it to your windshield.
