Default front license plate frame type

For those of you, like myself, who don't have the courage to drive without the required front plate, I have a question. I was about to order a frame for the front plate. I currently do not have one installed. I know that 2 holes need to be drilled in the bumper, but I was wondering if I should order the 4 hole frame. In other words, does the Lexus bracket have the ability to connect the frame to the bracket for extra security? If not, I believe the 2 hole frame pattern will be cleaner. Also, the thick bottom pattern design should conceal the holes in the plate, If I'm not mistaken. Finally, I'm thinking of going with a black frame, as I think it would be less obtrusive in the front than chrome. Your input would be appreciated.

I personally have a chrome one with black letters on them. And the one that I have is a two holes one that is secure on a bracket and any Lexus dealer should be able to install it for you without any extra cost. Because it is really like a 10 mins job.

please.....DO NOT DRILL HOLES IN YOUR BUMPER!!!

i think you'll regret putting on a front plate later. thousands of people would love to be in your shoes and not have a front plate. nearly every dealer drills holes in the front bumper and installs plates. a lot of people never get the chance to ask em to leave it off.

i requested them not to drill my bumper and i love it.

there are alternatives.....

You can make a plate holder that screws into the tow anchor point (just need to know the bolt size). It won't be centered and maybe not the prettiest, but at least you don't have to drill holes into your bumper.

Some options for purchase (a little pricey if you don't want to make your own though)

Another alternative for DIY:

If $$ is no object, just go for the motorized hidden option

hey rominl can you mount that right under the bumper? so it lines up with the center vent hole? in the area of where the motorized one is?

Good stuff as usual, Henry...

I wish my car didn't have the dealer drilled holes already. Now I have to find bumper plugs. Any good place to get them?
