Not sure if this has been posted but I recieved a call from my service advisor and was told that the GS300 has a recall on the fuel pump. Not sure if this applies to any other GS models or years but it might be something to check in to.

 

What year?

 

The latest fuel pump recall covers certain 2006 Lexus GS 300, IS 250 and IS 350 models in the U.S.

my understanding when my car went in for this was that it was a fuel line in the engine compartment and not the fuel pump. Simple replacement.

the 3G GS300 was only made 06

that could be true, i was just going off what my advisor told me. figure id just give everyone a heads up.

 

Is Lexus sending out recall notices in the mail or are they keeping this quiet until your car developes a fuel leak, which forces you to bring it in?

 

The fuel line was a recall, by law they have to notify registered owners, but this was in December of 2007. Mine had the fuel pipe replaced 1/2/2008 (last year). Technical service bulletins (TSBs) are the ones that are not announced to all registered owners individually, usually when the problem surfaces.

well thank you for clearing that up for me. maybe my advisor just got confused when he called. i just thought it was odd because he just called me out of the blue to mention this.

 

I brought it in for an oil change and they told me there was a recall on it so they took care of it and gave me a loaner... pretty sweet!

 

does this include 3Gen 2006 GS430 ???
