Hey guys,

My wife wants to buy me something for Christmas and there's nothing I really want, so I was thinking of adding something to the audio system in my car.

I have an 07 GS350, non Mark Levinson edition

What I was interested in was being able to use my ipod touch, and perhaps getting Syrius radio as well.

I would need to buy the unit. And then Id need to pay for it to be installed.

How much would this all run me? Which unit exactly should I buy? I don't think its possible since its not Mark Levinson but if I could somehow also watch DVD's I guess that would be cool too.

The other idea is just having her buy me new brakes =(

I know theres other threads for this but I don't feel like digging and I want to make sure I get the right one.

 

1) you can't watch dvd, coz' you don't have dvd changer at all. but if you have touch, you can get the sl2vi series to play video from your ipod

2) which unit you need, you need to check on the site and decide for yourself, they have a few of them

3) price, they will have another GB soon from what they mentioned, look out in the vendor section

4) install shouldn't be more than 100 bucks i guess.

 

Just be glad your wife is offering to buy you something = )

 

I luckily got install help from another forum member for a nominal charge.

Prior to that, I contacted 3 installers and all were more than $100 (around $150) - they should be charging less than an hour, but they one's I talked to all made bogus claims. If you don't have another option though, there's obviously not too much you can do about the installer's time estimate.

 

don't mean to hijack the thread, but i REALLY wish i had a hard drive for my audio. don't like flipping through the mp3 cd's, and sound is just not the same. will this "Vais" unit provide that function? how does it actually work? (like the user interface?).. thx.

 

they have a newest unit that has a hdd inside for you to transfer files

just visit their site for info...
