Default no more dust...

I had the dealer replace the front pads on my '08 GS350 at about 2000 miles with no problem. They did have to get it authorized first. The original "high performance" front pads did come on strong at the end of a braking cycle (when nearly stopped). This had been described by one of the auto magazine testers as "poor modulation'. Now the front pads work fine, with a more even stopping with constant pedal pressure. I don't know if they are any better or any worse in a panic situation.

Nice not to have all that brake dust pile up!

Just called my local dealer to see if they would replace the front brake pads on my 350. He said he was unaware of any problems with the 08 models and increased brake dust. He also said he would call and find out if Lexus would cover the replacement at no cost to me. He seemed to think they had fixed this issue. If they consider this fixed...can't even imagine how bad the dust must have been on the 06 and 07s.

Thats what my dealer told me, Lexus had change the part # for the 08 pads. After I insist on new pads, they cahnge it out and the brake dust problem is a thousand times better.
