Default dustless brake pads

i have an 07 gs350 and took my gs into the dealer to get the dustless brake pads thinking that it was a recall for my car. they told me it wasnt a recall they just offer dust less brake pads now and charged me 350 dollars for the service. Is this correct? are the brakes not a recall just lexus released dust less versions instead?

Well if your pads were low you could bring it in. The less dust brake pad is just what it is obviously its a personal choice. How I see it the less dust brake pads will protect your alloy wheels and so on...but the more dust you will sacrifice braking distance by a few feet and at the same time dust up the wheels. Its a sacrifice sometimes.

Im kind of pissed, my dad went to go pick up the car and hes foreign and cant speak english well so im assuming they tried to take advantage of him. This has happened before with him with previous dealerships, I printed out the TSB pdf file and am going to raise a storm in there

well they said they couldnt replace the pads under tsb because they were worn down too much or something? they were still good but worn down past a certain point or something? does anyone have any more info on this? The car only has 20k miles on it so its still under the factory warranty and they wont give back the pdf file i printed out and i cant remember where i found it. this is irritating me can someone point me to all the info i need to argue this with the dealer?

this TSB for this but you have to be under warranty and also have 70% of your brake pad left.

i hate lexus... i got a complete brake job done for my 745 ( rotors, pads, calipers) all for free no questions asked. all i said to them that my brakes were squealing and they changed out everything. i tell my lexus dealership that my accessory wheels that i purchased from them are getting really dusty because of your crappy pads and they charge me for the dustless ones. car needs an alignment now too ugh im really starting to regret buying the car.

Don't give up! Try another dealer service center.

YAP!!!

You got screwed by your dealership, under TSIB it covers for 4yr/50k. Therefore, it should be free of charge!!! Currently I am riding on my 3rd set of the brake pads replaced free of charge under TSIB!!!

Either goto another dealship or call Lexus HQ and make a complain, they should be able to help!!!

I complained about the dust on the fronts (rears were fine), and my dealer replaced them no questions asked. The car had 12,000 miles on it at the time.
