Default Replacing air filter, how do I remove the caps?

I know this is a stupid question, but how do you remove the caps that hold the engine cover on (the one that's shields the air filter)? I don't really want to just start "pulling" things off in fear of breaking anything. A little help over here?

it is also in your owner's manual, mine was on pg 510-511.

push center pin in until it pops, then pull out the whole device out. It is kinda nerve racking on the first one cause you think you are going to break it. Once you do one, you got the hang of it.
