yup, the whole auto industry is taking a dump, just go to car chat forum here on CL and read the sticky thread at the top

LS sales took a dump, but look at the S class and 7 series sales and see what's up. LS sales beat them still (even out-selling the s class, that's surprising to me)

but i agree, GS is sad..... the sales numbers are lower than e class (came out back in like 2003) and 5 series (sold tons in aug). though i am a 3gs owner, i think lexus missed pretty bad with this car

i wouldn't go that far. the gs350 does have class leading hp (and about as fast as the 535). i didn't check but i assume gas mileage is pretty good on the 350 too.

however, what's good on the 3gs can't overcome its shortcomings, thus the low sales. lack of cabin room, trunk space, and horrible initial launch

i have been car shopping the past few weeks and stopped in to look at the IS-F and GS 350 AWD Lease Special

the IS I just drove to say i drove it, a lot of fun but the carbon fiber trim just threw me off...not to sound old but it looked to childish to me and a luxury car should be wood trim no matter how fast

on the GS they had a lease deal with 10K miles fully loaded minus levinson for $575/month and $3500 down + tax/tags...they sent me out with a lady older than my grandma and just played games and eventually came back with a $825 a month payment somehow...i tried talking with the manager but it was more of the same, no one wanted to explain the extra fluff so i left

next week settled on a 06 GS 430 fully loaded + levinson w/ 35K miles from a Chevy dealer of all places, they had no idea what they really had...guy had no idea how to operate the car or even what the levinson stereo was

The GS is a great car, but from a sales standpoint, with YTD sales of 12.0k it is in a difficult situation. It's surrounded by the ES (46.6k), IS (37.3k) and LS (23.4k) with each offering some of what the GS does.

My guess is that the next gen GS will be a big departure and maybe a little radical for a Lexus. But who knows.

Default I believe the sales are down on all V8 luxury cars

I have been trying to sell mine, though not heavily advertised, for 3- 4 months now. Its a 07 550i 6 speed manual in fantastic condition. I have it priced aggressively, but only tirekickers looking to pay wholesale. As much as I would like to have an ISF, I refuse to give it away. Besides, what's not to like of HAVING to drive it.

Well the GS is a SPORT sedan with little to no sport attributes........I cant even get a RWD GS350 because im in NYC, so Lexus doesnt send any here........just stupid IMO.

3rd Gen GS NEEDS:

1) Sports Package - Bodykit, Susp, 19s
2) More interior combos - colors like saddle from 2GS, I want BLACK wood & BLACK leather TOGETHER.
3)Some exciting PAINT COLORS like the 2nd gen GS Spectra Blue.

The 3GS is just boring and in some angles looks less sporty than the ES & LS.

Its still behind only the 5 and E class and it doesn't have but 2 main models (450h is limited production) and no wagons or F models.

Sales are down and good points of it squased between the IS and ES.

Hell the RL only sold like 350 units

gs has little sport attributes? i don't know, i had a run in my gs350 the other day on the freeway, it took over a few cars pretty easily. if you talk about sport, i really don't know about e350. drove that thing before, that thing is argh

Fine with me... less GS on the road makes mine more unique.

Is your GS stock or modded?......BTW i said the ES looks more sporty, GS def drives more sporty than ES.

I like the 3GS also but its very conservative, much more than 2GS was in its time.
