Default Child Seats

Does anybody know (or have) if the Recaro Signo convertible seat fits in the middle seat? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

In my experiences, any car seat in the rear middle is problematic. There is a hump in the seat cushion from the transmission tunnel and the seat back also has a hump from the center armrest. Plus the roofline is low so the carseat sits very high and obscures rear vision. IMHO, you're better off placing the carseat on the right side (behind the front passenger's seat), and you can utilize the LATCH connectors for easy access.

I would say use high HD (high density) foam pads on the bottom. It will help to keep level the child seat, protect the leather seat, and also provide additional cushioning. I've used it on all my cars and not issues thus far (5 years).

Thx! I think I'll just order online at BabiesRus, test fit and return locally if it doesn't work out. Recaro's aren't available at stores .

Using Britax Marathon in my car (black/silver color blends perfectly with my black interior) which is one of the top rated car seats. It also convertible so you can use it facing backward when you child is small and than turn around when he/she gets bigger. Currently, my 3.5 year old starting to outgrow it so I will be passing it along to my 6 month old Will probably be switching to Recaro booster seat than! Sweet! I'm gonna order a seat protector and some foam padding to prevent indentations on the leather seat.

Fantastic! Just ordered the foam and back of seat protectors. Definitely going to check out that booster seat once our little man is big enough.

Why don't you like the Boulevard?

Eyeballing it, the Signo should fit. I have a Como and when looking at cars, I considered the GS and I remember thinking it would be tight, but should fit if the seats were scooted up a little. That's rear facing. Front facing is no problem at all.

We're thinking of getting a Boulevard as a 2nd seat for the other car. Wife and kid both aren't overly thrilled with the Como. Wife cuz the wings make it harder to pull the kid in and out. Kid cuz of comfort I assume (can't talk yet). Can tell he much prefers the infant seat we currently have.

How big is your kid? 20 months seems awfully young for a Young Sport. Unless he's a monster size, he really should still be rear facing for safety reasons.
