I will be dropping car on coilovers soon ( currently on tein h techs) and was wondering what the lower limit for dropping the car would be while maintaining a practical stance in terms of clearing driveways, speedbumps, and the occasional road debris without destroying the bottom of the car and exhaust components? I am estimating about 2.5-3". I am thinking of going 1.5 " to maintain some kind of reasonable tire wear. Going 2" will look a little better, but at the same time I have to think about practical driving. I am wondering if tire wear is horrible on the 3 gs. The h techs are a very mild drop so I cant imagine tire wear will be horrible, but an inch lower and it might be a whole different story
I use the fingers...lol
if you can stick your index finger between the tire and fender your low enough for a low ride but practical anything lower is harsher and harsher...I slammed my car to the max but the wheels rub to a certain degree on something and your exhaust will scrape out of the driveway...lol
Just depends what you like!!!!!

The GS naturally has negative camber due to the suspension geometry. At stock height, you will experience inner tire wear. The lower you go, the worse it gets. There's nothing that can be done to correct it.

Thats why I will probably stick to 1.5 inches. I had a full car last night ( every one 6'3" plus and 300 lbs) and the car was amazingly smooth and even remained stable and never bottomed out. I think the 3 gs has a loner than average suspension stroke or something, bec when I got out of the car the rear tires were tucked and the front tire was totally flush with the fenders and I wasnt in the car. Amazing ride quality stock or slammed
2" drop on the Tanabe Pro Five without a problem even with a full load. I'm set at 1 setting/notch above medium and it's a little stiff (s2k stiff or b-car lowered stiff) but still ok. I'm going to dial it down a bit to see if I get get it to ride better, but I rub due to the fender liners and my oversized tires. Oh well.

I had myself an 3 of my large cousins in the car and the thing still had a very nice ride and even felt like the suspension had adequate stroke and wasnt bottoming out with the car lowered on tein h techs. I will be doing coilovers but I dont want to dump it. I am running a staggered set as are many others. So to dump the car and already not have the ability to rotate the tire we are setting ourselves up for visiting the tire shop alot in the life of our cars
