Is 30K Service important? or, do you think I can wait till 50K?
I guess $400 for service seems not that high coming from BMW world...

you realize the recommended schedule is every 5k right?

30k --> 50k without doing anything is too much

there are those that believe that you should never let a dealer touch your car because they will cheat you or do terrible work. IMO if you are a buy and hold customer and expect to keep the car, do the 30K package.

hold the phone.
I thought the 06 and up GS had sealed trannies so the recommended 15k drain and flush are a thing of the past. That is what was explained to me. The power steering pump is electric now, so flushing that fluid is obsolete as well.

I changed the oil, oil filter, air filter, and cabin filter, as well as rotated the tires myself in my garage.

The only thing I had done at 30k by the stealership was a total brake fluid flush.

you're right. i haven't reached even 20k yet, so i was typing out of my ***.

the trans fluid is for the ES only, and under harsh driving conditions.

our cars only need to be checked for trans fluid leaks.

I had the dealer just do the brake fluid flush for the 30K (they usually charge around $100 for full flush). You can replace the engine air filter and the cabin filter on your own in less than 15 minutes.

I'm not worried about getting cheated or terrible work.
I worry about door dings.scratches and interior grease spots.
I also don't ever want a car wash.
However in using the Lexus credit card.I've accumulated about $400 in Lexus bucks so far for service and/or accessories.
So I'll let Lexus do some work on my car.

I take mine in every 5k and just had the 30k service done a month ago. Still drives like it just came off the showroom floor.
