I'd like to be able to enter address points in the NAV while driving.I'm not interested in watching DVDs while driving, just entering addresses.
I may be wrong from from what I read is that some kind of thing gets plugged into the NAV unit.
There's a sticky thread (at the top of the list) that has a lot of info on the subject. Basically there are a few ways to accomplish overriding entry in motion.

you can do the wire cutting mods, that will void your electronic warranty of course if anything goes south. it's the cheaper route
you can also get the plug and play override kit to override the navigation. no wire cutting, much cleaner install. cost more though. i got mine from prestigious society. too bad they are no longer a vendor here. you can email them at chung@prestigioussociety.com
i haven't timed it but i'm pretty sure that mine works longer than just 30 seconds... i think it also depends on how fast you are driving when you press the button... but all in all, i have had plenty of time to input addresses while driving
I haven't seen anyone mention the hybrid disc option. This allows you to enter address in motion without time-out limitation but you have to take 10-15 seconds each time to decode the Nav when restarting the ignition. I have successfully made 6.1+5.1 and now I am on my latest 7.1+5.1 disc.

if speed is over 40mph, then override will be from 30-45 secs, that's a fact, i have done more than enough testing. it was a pain
which is better? your call. ebay one, very limited time, cheaper. PS one, more expensive but you get the full version
