Default Gs-f??

what's everyone's take on the possibility of a GS-F?
I'm thinking it's a darn near "for sure" now that the IS-F is out and led the way.
The M5, E63 and Audi (whichever Audi I'm thinking of) need some competition.
Any thought's for horsepower, motor possibilities, times, prices, etc... ???

i am more than confident (and of course, still my wish) that there will be gs-f. i am just not sure if it's going to be in the current generation. i think it's going to be one nice machine. would seriously consider that (is-f too small for me)

They need a new GS design before they do a GS-F.

mqan I dont even need the V10. Just drop the ISF motor into the GS and BOOM!!! you have a winner. Why is lexus soooo far behind in terms of building performance oriented cars. I just drove the ISF after getting an oil change on my GS. DAMN that car is insane!! But to drive it comfortably you have to be under 6 foot. The GSF will be a welcome model in my eyes and wallet.

5l 415hp v8 won't cut it at all in the gs

m5, 500hp
e63, 507hp

a gs-f with 415hp will be a pure joke among competitions

Some mags reported the LF-A will come with 570hp V10, put that in the GS-F then we're talking

I doubt they would put that in the GS-F. I mean the LF-A will eventually be the flagship car so it's got to have the best of the best. If anything the GS-F might inherit that same engine but with a less agressive tune and some parts detuned. Around 510-520hp or so just to peak their heads above the competition but still far enough away from the LF-A.

I think there will be a GS-F, because Lexus is trying to move their image more toward the similarity of German and they have done it so far......

I think Lexus will need 550hp. If they are planning a 2012 car and coming out in 2011, BMW M and Mercedes AMG will have 3 more years of develpoment on their cars as well.
German automakers dont want to fail on their coveted performance of their sedan Autobahn burners and would not want to allow a Japanese maker to take top place.
I also think it'll bring BMW/AMG up a notch having the competition of a Lexus.

Lexus needs to come out with the GS-F. Agreed BMW,MB,A, all need competition. IMO...The GS (prior to the IS-F) is the Lexus performance car... to not have it available in an F type would be questionable.

I'd definitely be interested in a GS-F, but Lexus will really have to step up its game to compete in this segment.

FWIW, word is that the next generation AMG engine which will power the W212 E-Class will have 570 hp / 665 lb-ft torque. But who knows how reliable these "reports" are.

http://www.motorauthority.com/cars/m...nt-amg-v8-v12/

According to a new report, AMG will replace its still-new 6.2L V8 and 6.0L V12 twin-turbo engines with a brand new 5.0L V8 twin-turbo. There are several reasons behind the decision: the new 6.2L has horrendous fuel consumption at full throttle and it lacks the low-end grunt of the previous supercharged 5.5L V8.

There will be several versions of the new force-fed 5.0L mill, a base version with 570hp and 665lb-ft of torque to replace the 6.2L V8 and a high-output 700hp/885lb-ft unit to replace the 612hp V12.
